FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
Is it for me, what will it cost, and how does it fit with what you already use? Straight answers, including where we don’t know yet.
Is it for me?
Who is ClintixPro for USMLE for?
Anyone preparing for Step 1 or Step 2 CK: US MD and DO students, and international medical students and graduates. You can learn with the AI tutor, practice in ClintixPro’s own question bank, review the questions you miss in another bank, or do all three.
Does it cover COMLEX or shelf exams?
No. ClintixPro covers USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK only. DO students who are preparing for the USMLE are included, but it isn’t a COMLEX or shelf exam resource.
I’m only just starting to practice questions. Is it for me?
Yes. The tutor can explain a topic from the simple ideas up, ClintixPro has its own question bank to start in, and the review that follows a miss is part of it from the first question.
Access and cost
When can I use it?
ClintixPro for USMLE is in development, and we don’t have a date. Join the waitlist and we’ll write when there’s something to try.
How much will it cost, and is the price the same for everyone?
Yes, there is one set of plans and prices for everyone, whatever your background or where you studied, in US dollars: Free, then Starter US$35, Standard US$55 and Intensive US$70 a month, or US$315, US$495 and US$630 a year, paid once, which is 3 months free. See the Pricing page for what each plan includes and how billing works.
Can I try it before I pay?
Not yet, because it is in development. When access opens, the Free plan needs no card: 10 AI-generated questions a day, 5 tutor questions a day and one free mock exam, so you can judge it before you subscribe.
What is the introductory offer?
50% off the first two months of any monthly plan, for everyone who subscribes in the first six months after we open. We’re new to the USMLE and would rather make it inexpensive to find out whether this works for you. From the third month the full price applies, and annual plans aren’t part of the offer.
Why join the waitlist?
It’s how you’ll hear when Step 1 and Step 2 CK are ready to try, and when the introductory offer starts. Joining is free, needs no card and doesn’t reserve a place or promise a date.
Can I cancel, and can I get a refund on an annual plan?
Monthly plans can be upgraded, downgraded or cancelled at any time, with no lock-in. All plans renew automatically until you cancel, and access continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for. Annual plans are paid once and include 3 months free. You can ask for a refund at any time during the year: we refund what you’ve paid less the full monthly price for each month you’ve used, counted from the purchase date, with a part month counting as a month, and access ends when a refund is made.
What happens to my email address?
We use it to tell you about ClintixPro for USMLE, and nothing else. To be removed, email hello@clintix.com. The two optional questions on the form are only what you choose to tell us about yourself: we don’t infer your background from your name, your email address or where you are.
Alongside what you already use
Do I have to stop using my question bank?
No. Keep your question bank, notes and flashcards if they work for you. ClintixPro is for learning a concept with the tutor, practicing in its own bank, and the review that follows a miss, whether you missed it there or in another bank.
Can I bring in questions from my own question bank?
Yes. Upload a screenshot of a question you missed and ClintixPro reviews it like any other. It doesn’t connect to or import from your question bank, so you choose what to upload. Only upload content you have the right to use: question banks have their own terms about copying and sharing, and we can’t check them for you.
How does ClintixPro generate its questions?
With AI built specifically for the USMLE, so the questions and explanations are scoped to Step 1 and Step 2 CK rather than to medicine in general. Which sources it draws on, who reviews the clinical content and how accuracy is tested will be published on Content and quality before we ask anyone to rely on it.
Is ClintixPro just another question bank?
It is a question bank, but the tutor is the centre of it. ClintixPro is built around understanding: why you chose an answer, what the exam is really asking, and what to practice next.
What does the AI tutor do?
It adapts to the way you learn. Ask it to explain a concept or a question at the level you need, simpler or deeper, from another angle, and it can build from the simple ideas up to the complex ones. It can be wrong, so check what matters and correct what doesn’t fit.
How is this different from asking a general-purpose AI tool?
A general chat assistant can explain a question well, and many candidates already use one. ClintixPro’s tutor is built specifically for the USMLE and sits inside a question bank and a review, with a takeaway you can edit and one suggested next step. Whether that is worth it to you is for you to judge.
Does it tell me whether I’ll pass?
ClintixPro shows a readiness score, an estimate of your likelihood of passing based on how you perform. It’s an estimate, not a promise, and for USMLE it hasn’t yet been checked against real exam results. We don’t guarantee a pass or a score.
Who is behind it, and can I trust it?
Is the AI accurate?
It can be wrong, like any tool that explains medicine. Explanations are meant to be checked and corrected, and we’ll publish how we test them, and what we find, before we ask anyone to rely on ClintixPro.
Who is behind ClintixPro for USMLE?
Clintix Pty Ltd, an Australian company founded by three practicing emergency physicians. ClintixPro already helps Australian doctors prepare for their specialty exams, and the USMLE version brings the same approach to a new exam. That experience shapes how we build; it isn’t evidence about this exam.
Is it affiliated with the USMLE, NBME or FSMB?
No. USMLE® is a joint program of the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). ClintixPro isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by either of them, or by any question bank provider.
